Hiya everyone! Todays Waggy tale is called Ditched by A. Richardson©2007.

This Waggy Tale is for all of you who love Tractors and Diggers! The idea for the title came about when I heard someone a bit silly say to stay out of a little ditch because it was theirs! Whoever heard of anything as daft as trying to cause an argument over a small yucky ditch! Anyway, it was an inspiration for the title of this story which I hope you will all enjoy. Andy is a bright red tractor and Per, ( short for Peregrine), is a blue and yellow bulldozer,(Digger)

Andy and Per had been friends for many years, ever since they were young when they played in the back yard digging and moving small stones, mud and all those things which young tractors and diggers loved to play with. As soon as they were old enough they began working together just as they had played together. They were inseperable. One would always help the other if they needed it and they always looked out for each other if there was any trouble. Normally they worked in the country on farms where they would help the farmers plant crops, build new barns, repair driveways and many such jobs. However, last week they were asked to help the local council with the building of a new byepass round the small town of Tempari which was a good half an hour's drive from Ruwlas, the village where Andy and Per lived. They were very excited as they started their journey to work on Monday morning because this was the biggest job they had worked on so far in their careers. Per was that excited he washed his bucket twice before he left home to be sure it was spick and span for his new job. Indeed they were both positively gleaming like new with the early morning sunshine adding a sparkle to their bodies as they drove along the country lanes.

Side by side they drew to a halt at the top of the hill looking over Tempari. Below them were the other machines already starting to clear the way for the new road. Per sneezed, then sneezed again. "I hope you're not getting a cold in your pipes", his friend said. "I don't think so", replied Per, " It feels more like some sort of dust fever. Maybe I'm alergic to something". "Well don't get allergic right now Per, or we'll be losing our job, then it's starve for tea, and we can't have that, now can we, jokes Andy".

To be continued hopefully in the next day or so......
